Java-ML in a nutshell:
  • A collection of machine learning algorithms
  • Common interface for each type of algorithms
  • Library aimed at software engineers and programmers, so no GUI, but clear interfaces
  • Reference implementations for algorithms described in the scientific literature.
  • Well documented source code.
  • Plenty of code samples and tutorials.

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.7 released

It's been a long time, but there is a new release. 0.1.6 has been release quietly a while ago, so this will be number 0.1.7.

API documentation

Things that are new or changed since the last announcement:

- Spectral clustering algorithms are available in SVN, will be included in the main release further down the line.
- A whole lot more unit tests
- Bayes classifiers
- More tutorials
- Improved sampling strategies

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.5 released

In preparation of MLSB 2009, Slovenia we are making a new release of Java-ML available. In the past few months we have added a number of improvements that we make available in this release.

API documentation

  • Redesign of subsampling in Java-ML, see the API for some details.
  • Bug fixes to a number of algorithms.

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.4 released

In this release we made major improvements to the documentation of various classes and packages. We have improved the javadoc of a number of classes and we have added a quite a few new tutorials.
We have also upgraded the bundled weka to version 3.6.0.

The PDF version of the manual is now included in the main distribution.

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.3 released

In this release we bring again quite some improvements to the library. Most important to note is that we have modified the structure of the feature selection package to better reflect the classification of feature selection algorithms and we have added some feature selection algorithms.

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.2 released

This release features a number of improvements. We have added a few classifiers and a feature selection algorithm. We have increased the number of regression tests, fixed a number of bugs, written extra documentation and implemented a number of stand-alone tutorials.

API documentation

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.1 released

This release offer a new distance algorithm. The Fast dynamic time warping algorithm by Salvador and Chan has been included in the library.

The FileHandler class can now also be used to export data to a file.

API documentation

Java Machine Learning Library 0.1.0 released

Version 0.1.0 is a major upgrade from the previous release (0.0.16). The core of the library has been rewritten entirely and this release is as such no longer compatible with previous releases.

Java-ML website

We are proud to announce that we moved the website for Java-ML from my personal hosting to Sourceforge.

All data is hosted on the same platform and on the same servers. The website is based on Drupal.
Main features of this new website:

  • Documentation in Wiki-style
  • API documentation as generated by javadoc
  • Issue tracking for bugs and feature requests
  • Support to incorporate sub-projects on particular algorithms or features
